Lot 380: Harley-Davidson 1,340cc Electra Glide Classic Ultra
For 1989 Harley-Davidson upped the specification of its iconic, range-topping Electra Glide Classic super-tourer, endowing this already well-equipped model with a range of additional electronic accessories to create the Electra Glide Classic Ultra. These included a CB radio, cruise control, rider/passenger intercom and rear mounted stereo speakers.
The vendor bought this example in June 1991 in Edmonton, Canada and rode it through the Rocky Mountains via New Mexico to Florida, from whence it was shipped to the UK and registered here for the first time in November '91. Since then the vendor has toured this country and Scandinavia with the Harley. SORN'd for the last six years, it has continued to be maintained by the owner and started on a regular basis. This ultimate Electra Glide tourer has all the extra equipment that it was possible to fit in 1991. The only modification concerns the intercom system, which was disconnected on the demand of HM Customs & Excise when the motorcycle was registered in the UK. Always kept in a heated garage and described by the private vendor as in very good order throughout, this Ultra Classic comes with full tool kit, owner's manual, factory-made cover, trickle charger and an alarm. Accompanying documentation consists of a quantity of expired MoTs, SORN acknowledgement letter and Swansea V5C registration document.
