Lot : PORSCHE 944 LUX

The 944 made its debut in 1982 and, although similar in profile to the 924, was in fact very different under the skin. A Porsche-designed 2.5-litre engine developed 163bhp and was effectively based on half of the 928 model’s V8 unit. With the usual Porsche standard of build quality and excellent handling, the 944 was to prove an extremely competent motor car. A 1985 example, the 944 Lux offered here is finished in Guards Red with black interior trim. It has been in the hands of its current owner for the past seven years and benefited from a replacement engine fitted by Porsche specialists, Parr Garage, at a cost of £5,500 around thirteen years ago. Recent replacements have included steering column and radiator and, with the exception of the odometer, we are advised that all equipment is fully functional.
