Lot 1012: Place Bid or Track Lot

The Frank Cooke Collection, Bonhams & Butterfields (23rd September 2006)

Place Bid or Track Lot
Engine no. 1032

This engine is believed to be a spare engine for the Model R car previously sold as Lot no. 1012. It corresponds technically with the Model N engine produced for the 1906 season and also the Model S, the Models R and S having continued in production until Henry Ford’s adoption of his one model policy in 1908. The four-cylinder side-valve engine is cast in pairs and the Model R engine unit displaced 149cu.in. A substantial part of the epicyclic gear arrangement is present and the whole unit is mounted on a display stand and sold strictly as viewed.
