Lot 142: Jaguar E-Type S2 2+2
Classic Cars, Barons (12th December 2006)
After wowing the worlds press and customers alike for 5 years with the E Type FHC and Roadster, Jaguar launched the family mans E Type in 1966. This new E Type had a longer wheelbase and steeply raked front screen, allowing Jaguar the space to fit a fold away rear seat. The rear seat could accommodate two small children with ease and the provided occasional room for two adults over short distances. This new configuration meant that the family man could now enjoy E Type motoring without feeling guilty and when used it as a two seater I was a superb touring car with acres of luggage space..This 1970, S2 example is from a private collection and is offered with a file of history, including repair invoices and lists of previous work carried out. Recent works include a rear end overhaul and new brakes pads.Finished in Primrose yellow with black leather interior, the car is described as being in good to very good condition and has the automatic transmission, chrome wire wheels and a Webasto, full length sunroof.
