Lot 140: Mercedes-Benz 500SL

First seen in 1989, the 129 SL had a huge act to follow. The 107 SL had been around for 18 years, building a huge following around the world. The 129 had to convince these enthusiasts that it was a worthy successor. It is now 18 years since the launch of the new model and it has, itself, been replaced after a very successful period in production, where it soon gained its own reputation.Offered here is a 1993 example of the 500SL, which is said to be complete with a stamped service booklet, original handbooks and service history in support of the indicated 108,000 miles.Finished in graphite grey metallic with beige leather interior, the car is said to be in very good condition throughout and is equipped with AMG alloy road wheels, hard top, electric soft top and CD multi- changer.
