Lot 152: 1968 Fiat 1500 Osca Spyder

The percursor of this cabriolet was the Fiat 1100 Trasformabile of 1955. For the construction of this new spider, FIAT required Pininfarina to create a new body, different from the previous models. The result confirmed their expectations: elegant and unique lines, destined to become a classic.The models that followed were endowed with more and more powerful engines until the pinnacle: the sporty Bialbero 1500 built by the OSCA "Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili" owned by the Maserati brothers.Producing an impressive 80 hp from the small 1.5 litre DOHC engine, this was a truly sporty engine and could propel this pretty little convertible to a top speed of more than 170 km/h. Exclusivity is guaranteed as only 80 of these exotic Fiats left the factory.The delightful example here is finished in white with a contrasting black interior. Very recently it has benefited from a camshaft replacement. Still with its original Bari plates, the vendor informs us that this Fiat OSCA is in good original condition.A very rare chance to purchase an entry level OSCA engined car.
