Some say that the Silver Cloud and Bentley S Class were that last of the real Rolls-Royce cars to be built. With the substantial separate chassis, graceful coachwork and drawing room interiors, these cars represent a forgotten age and are ever more sought after.Offered here is the desirable Bentley S2, which retains the original lines of the S1 but is equipped with the all alloy V8 engine, power steering and air conditioning. The car was originally supplied by Coffins Ltd of Eastbourne in September 1960 and was registered to R. M. Tilling of Pulborough on the registration number JBP 1.Finished in steel blue over silver with grey hide interior, the car is said to have benefited from a bare metal repaint while in the USA, where it has spent many years in a private collection. The supplying Bentley dealer, in the USA, claimed that the indicated 38,345 miles, at the time of sale in 2004, was true and correct. This dealer had been established for 54 years in the same ownership. The odometer now reads 38,589.The car is offered in exceptional condition and is complete with a copy of the original order, spec sheet and price structure, plus a VT30 MoT refusal certificate showing that only minor works are required to obtain a pass.
