Lot 10: Bristol 412 CONVERTIBLE SALOON

First appearing in 1975, the 412 was to be Bristol's first convertible model since the drophead variant of the 405 of 1954-1956.� The striking design was by Zagato and featured a targa top with rollover bar giving immense rigidity.� As with all models from this revered manufacturer, appointments and fittings were of the highest order whilst power came from the well-established 6.6-litre V-8 Chrysler unit fitted with TorqueFlite transmission.� As always, limited production numbers were to guarantee exclusivity and, as with all Bristols, the 412 had a considerable presence on the road, as well as being possessed of phenomenal performance.�The example offered for sale here is said to be one of the first of this model, built in Italy by Zagato for the 1975 Motor Show although we are advised that this car was not actually at the show.� Shortly after, production of the 412 was moved to the Bristol factory, this being confirmed by Bristol themselves.� The car is finished in Silver with black leather trim and is reported to be in good mechanical order in all departments.� The Avon turbo speed tyres seem to be recent replacements, as is the black carpeting.Documentation to be supplied includes a Swansea V5 and an MOT certificate current until 17th July 2008.�
