Lot 301: Suzuki AP 50 Scooter
The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show, Bonhams (18th October 2009)
The Japanese industry's development of the variable-ratio, belt-drive transmission, pioneered in 'fifties Europe led to the development of the 'Twist'n'go Commuter Scooter'. Simple to ride and easy to start, the scooter has seen sales continue to rise as these machines are utilized to overcome town parking difficulties or to take the place of a car. Legally rideable on a car license, they offer almost hassle-free motor cycling. R369 UNT is by no means a pristine Suzuki, but is in seemingly sound, rather than pretty, condition with just 8,600 miles recorded. Ready to receive cosmetic attention or to ride 'as is', this lightweight is complete with a V5 and an owner's manual.
