Lot 061: 1971 MERCEDES-BENZ 280 SE
Classic Cars, H&H Sales Limited (8th June 2005)
The luxury right-hand drive saloon comes with the original handbooks, spare parts book and `computerised' factory build card confirming manufacturing details and ex-Stuttgart works specification. Also present are standard tool kit and both owner's master key as well as chauffeur's key, which releases all but the glove-box and boot lid locks. Some spare parts are included such as lights, body trim strips and various suspension components.
Due to the age of manufacture, the vehicle qualifies for a tax-exempt disc. As confirmed by the V5 registration document, the distinctive SKY 970J plates are included. The vehicle has been freshly and successfully MOT tested, the current certificate with the car being valid until May of next year. Among documents on file are various former MOTs and tax discs.
Current condition of the four-door body shell, both above and below, is described as good as is the paintwork, whilst the interior is also said to be in very good condition. Both 2778cc six-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission as well as electrical equipment are reportedly in good order. The excellence of three-pointed star engineering has become legendary, of course, and a Mercedes like this offers really extraordinary value for your money.
