Lot 207: Peugeot 404 Pininfarina Coupe

The Peugeot range was introduced in 1960 as a successor to the 403 and was available in saloon, estate and the more exclusive coupe and convertible variants, styled by Italian design genius Pininfarina. It proved to be the mainstay of the French car producer until 1975, when it was superseded by the 405. This beautiful Peugeot Pininfarina Coupe has had a ground up restoration until 2008, since when the car ran faultlessly for some 5000 kms. Its body, engine, gearbox, brakes were overhauled as necessary as was its interior, electrical system, chrome, windshield ( new ) etc. etc. The restoration is backed by various photos and invoices, available in the cars file. Being equipped for light rallye use, the car boasts a trip master, oil temparature + oil pressure instrument, speedometer, main switch and various other useful items in a a leather covered console. Sitting on 195/65 tyres this car is ready to be used and comes with german paperwork and historical registration docs. Certainly one of the best, if not the best on offer. Finished in blue with matching blue leather interior and grey carpets a very elegant motorcar too.
