From 1958 until 1965, the Impala was Chevrolet's most expensive full-size car. With it's trademark six tail-lights, it was one of GM's most successful models of all time, frequently topping the US sales charts and selling over one million units in 1965 alone, a record which stands to this day. The 1961-64 second generation cars are widely considered to be the best in terms of styling with more crisp and boxy lines than their more rounded predecessors, emphasizing the longer, lower look which was so popular at the time. Engine choices ranged from the small block 235ci (3.9-litre) to the 340bhp 409ci (6.7-litre), available in either manual or auto form. Imported from the States in December 2007, this 1963 Chevrolet Impala Two-door Coupe has the popular 300bhp 327ci (5.4-litre) Turbo-Fire V8 with Powerglide auto transmission. With just 54,440 miles on the clock it has had just two previous owners from new and is said to be totally original apart from a high quality repaint. Features include power steering, power brakes, dual exhaust and a red cloth interior. Said to be in excellent condition throughout and to drive beautifully, it has an MOT until July 2009 and is taxed until next September.
