The 356, the car that gave birth to a legend. While Ferdinand Porsche gave us the peoples car, his son, Ferry was responsible, together with Karl Rabe, for the Porsche 356. Since that first Porsche rolled off the production line in 1949, the name has been associated with precision and quality. The first Porsche racing success came in 1951, when works 356 finished first in class at Le Mans. Racing successes became a habit in future years. Porsche has won in every form of four-wheeled motor sport from Le Mans to GT racing, Desert Raids to Classic Rallying. Offered here is a 356B T5 Coupe, which was originally registered in the as a factory built, RHD car. In 1988/1989 it was rebuilt as an Historic Rally car to compete in the 1990/1991 Pirelli Classic Marathon and the 1991 Monte Carlo Classic Rally. The car retains these modifications to this day and is suitable for Historic Rallying. The car is now equipped with a 1720cc engine, built by well known specialist Barry Curtis, Carrera exhaust system, 4-speed, low-ratio transmission, rear roll cage, timing equipment, Corbeau racing seats, 4 point harness, adjustable Koni shocks, 4-point harness and fire extinguisher. Offered in "As Rallied" condition with current MoT and ready for its next adventure.
