Lot 61: Bentley Turbo RL

When first seen at the Geneva Salon in 1982, the turbo charged version of the Bentley Mulsanne certainly raised a few eyebrows and was to restore the high performance image of the marque.  Its leviathan proportions notwithstanding, the car would sprint to 60mph in around eight seconds and on to a top speed of 135mph.  Three years later, the Turbo R was to continue this theme and featured a number of improvements to this imposing sports saloon including considerably improved handling.  Finally, after years of refusal to disclose power outputs, Rolls-Royce Motors stated that 320bhp was produced by this superlative engine with its Garrat AiR research.A long wheel base example of 1995 manufacture, this Midnight blue metallic Turbo RL has beige leather trim and is understood to have covered just 37,200 miles and is reported to be in very good condition in all departments having been regularly serviced.  The specification includes an Alpine media centre including radio, stacking CD, Sat Nav, TV and an extra battery in the boot.  There are two telephones and a Gemini alarm, and an anti-theft system is also installed. From a collection, this fine Bentley is sold with extensive service history, a Swansea V5 document and an MOT certificate valid until 15th September 2007.
