Lot 130: Triumph TR6

The Triumph TR Range spanned over two decades, from the TR2 Long Door of 1953 to the demise of the TR6 in 1974. Each model has its own following and styling varies from typically British through Classic Italian to aggressive Germanic in the TR6, which was styled by Karmann. The TR6 was, by far, the most successful of the TR range, with over 94,000 examples leaving the factory. 78,000 of these went to America. Offered here is a mint example of the TR6, which has been in the hands of the same owner for 26 years and was previously registered to a Countess. 20 of the past 26 years have been spent in storage in an aircraft hanger and just 2000 miles have been recorded since 1982. The car has recently been recommisioned by Kent Classics at a cost of £4000. The works included replacement of the fuel injection metering unit, new radiator, complete brake overhaul and major service items. Finished in Maroon with tan vinyl, the car is described as being in exceptional condition. It is equipped with the 2.5 litre, six-cylinder, fuel injected engine, 4 speed + overdrive transmission and is equipped with all weather gear and full tonneau cover.
