Lot 135: Bentley Bentley 8

The Bentley Eight another step in the progression towards a more sporting image for the Marque and the realisation that the sporting heritage of Bentley had been ignored by Rolls Royce for too long. With its trusty 6.7 litre V8 engine, chrome mesh grill and alloy wheels the Eight could provide the luxury and finesse usually associated with a Bentley but the model also had a sporty appearance, which was aimed squarely at the younger buyer and owner/driver. This 1990 example is said to have covered just 4,000 miles since 2003 and just 99,000 miles from new. The car is equipped with the usual options associated with the marque, which include power seats and windows, split level air conditioning, sound system, auto transmission, hand trimmed interior, ABS and fuel injection. The car has recently been fitted with a new, high pressure, power steering pipe. Finished in Vermilion with magnolia hide, piped in St James red, the car has magnolia knee-roll, sports style front seats, individual rear seats, cherry red carpets, lambs wool over-rugs and narrow-band whitewall tyres on alloy road wheels. NB. This Bentley is shown as a category D insurance claim "Damaged but repairable".
