Lot 38: Daimler DOUBLE SIX

Following the introduction of the Series III V12 E-Type in 1971, it was only a short while before the engineers at Browns Lane had shoehorned the 300hp light alloy engine in the XJ6 saloon's engine bay.� A Daimler version was soon to follow.� Using a designation which had first appeared on the magnificent V12 model of 1927, the new Double Six Daimler offered superbly luxurious motoring with an aura of exclusivity.Here is a 1977 Double Six finished in green with black leather trim and its recorded mileage of 45,552 is understood to be substantiated by service records.� The car was stored for some years but with the exception of having been repainted at some time in the past, the vehicle is thought to be essentially in original order and all would appear to be satisfactory mechanically.�As well as the aforementioned service records, the car is to be offered for sale with a V5 registration document and MOT certificate current until January 2008.�
