Lot 102: Porsche 924S

The first Porsche to appear with the engine ahead, rather than behind, the driver, was the joint Porsche/VAG produced 924. This entry level Porsche, proved very popular, despite drawing a lot of criticism from hardened Porsche 911 fans. The 924 paved the way for the 928, the 944 and all of its derivatives, it also brought Porsche ownership to a much wider audience.In 1985 the Audi 2.0 engine was dropped and the 924 gained the 2479cc, over-square, four-cylinder engine from the 944, which gave the car a much needed power boost. Known as the 924S, the model also sat on "telephone dial" alloy road wheels, had suitably uprated suspension and proved to be even more popular.This example is said to be complete with a service booklet containing 10 service stamps. It is said to be in excellent, all round condition and to drive very well.Finished in Grand Prix white with brown interior, the car is complete with tax and MoT through to March 2008
