The BMW 5-Series was launched back in 1972 and occupies the middle ground between the compact 3-Series sports saloons and the large 7-Series luxury saloons. The E39 generation of the 5-Series, produced from 1996 to 2004, is widely regarded as one of the finest BMWs of all time and was regularly voted 'Best Car in the World' in various magazine polls throughout its production life. Utterly reliable with a superb engine and outstanding chassis dynamics, it was a supersaloon par excellence and good examples remain highly sought after by knowledgeable petrolheads to this day. The 528i version was powered by a creamy smooth 2.8-litre straight-six that produced 193bhp and could propel the car to 147mph. This 1998 car has been modified by AC Schnitzer, one of the largest, most renowned vehicle customizers worldwide for the BMW brand.
