Lot 106: Audi Quattro Turbo

One of the most famous rally cars of all time, the original Audi Quattro was also a magnificently fast and sure-footed sportscar. It was powered by a five-cylinder turbo-charged engine which went through three evolutions during the car's 11-year production life from 1980 to 1991. The earliest 2,144 cc 10v being the WR engine, the 2,226 cc 10v being the MB engine, and the later 20v being the RR engine. In MB form, as here, the unit produced 200bhp and could catapult the car to 60 in 6 seconds on its way to a top speed of 137mph. Dating from 1988, this car has had only two owners from new and has covered just 55,000 warranted miles. It comes with a full Audi main dealer service history and has had much money recently spent on it to bring it up to the fine condition you see today. This included renewing the entire fuel system (including the fuel tank), and all the brakes including discs, pads and front calipers. A new clutch and cam belt have also been fitted along with a full stainless steel exhaust system. Said to be in excellent condition throughout, it comes with 11 month's MOT and five month's road tax.
