Lot 225: 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee - 28,000 miles from new

The original Super Bee was based on the Dodge Coronet. It was a two door model only and was produced from 1968 through to 1970. It was the company's low-priced muscle car, the equivalent of the Plymouth Road Runner, and was priced at $3,027. Although it was available with the Hemi engine, this option raised the price by 33% and only 125 were sold. Heavy duty suspension was included in the Superbee's specification and there were the options of a Mopar A-833 four speed manual transmission and high-performance tyres, while externally a stripe with the 'bee' logo was wrapped around the tail. The 1969 model year gave Chrysler customers several engines to choose from including the 383hp high performance engine with four barrel carburettor. This original car, with matching chassis and engine numbers, is offered in good overall condition. Manufactured in 1969, it comes with a copy of the American Certificate of Title and the original Dodge sales invoice detailing delivery in Roseville, California, specifications and options totalling $864, almost a quarter of the total price. Factory fitted options on this well specified Coronet car include air conditioning, four barrel carburettor, power assisted steering, tinted glass, deluxe wheel covers, noise reduction package, performance axle package and Torqueflite transmission to name but a few.
