Lot 101: Morris Minor 1000
Classic, Collectors & Sports Cars, Barons (27th October 2009)
If you haven't owned a Morris Minor you haven't lived, or so the saying goes. The ubiquitous Moggie Minor, which became the Moggie 1000 can be found in every corner of the globe. Everyone auntie or granny owned a Moggie at so9me time and they were de rigueur for village reverends.
The first great success of Alec Issigonis and a wonderful piece of engineering the Moggie Minor filled a very big void in the 50's and had become more like a pet by the 60's. Everyone wanted to start off the car owning experience with a Moggie, from student to pop star.
Offered here is a 1965 Morris 1000, 4-door saloon, which had, until recently been a one owner shopping car. The indicated mileage, of 18000 miles (eighteen thousand) is thought to be but not warranted as being correct.
Finished in white with red leather seats, the car is described as being very good interior wise, good mechanically and structurally and fair for paint and bodywork. It is offered complete with all recent bills, an MoT through to Mar 2010 and historic tax through to Feb 2010.
A great and inexpensive way to get into classic motoring.
