Lot 204: Fiat Barchetta Ltd

The Barchetta was developed between 1990 and 1994 under the project name Tipo B Spider 176. It was designed by Andreas Zapatinas, Peter Barrett Davis and other car designers at the Fiat Centro Stile. Prototyping was carried out by Stola. The Barchetta was based on the chassis of the Mark 1 Fiat Punto. Its 131 PS / 96 kW engine is the 1.8 L petrol engine, with twin-cam and variable camshaft timing. The Barchetta weighed just 1056 kg (2328 lb) without air conditioning and could accelerate to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. Offered here is a 1998 example of the Barchetta, which was originally supplied in Spain and then imported intio the UK. As a result of its time in the Spanish sun, it has not suffered the ravages of the British climate and is said to be rust free. Finished in silver with red and black leather interior, the car has covered just 122,000km, which is warranted, by the vendor, as correct. It has the 1800cc, twin-cam egine and 5 speed manual transmission. The car is said to be in good order throughout.
