Lot 05: Jaguar XJ6 3.2

From 1986, the new twin-cam 24-valve AJ6-Series engines replaced the redoubtable XK Series engines whilst the bodywork underwent revision, now looking crisper and more in keeping with current trends.� The XJ40 series saloons emerged to replace the third series of the original XJ6.� Introduced in 4-litre and 2.9-litre versions, replacing the 4.2 and 3.4 versions, the smaller variant was considered to be lacking by many and was ultimately replaced in 1990 by the much improved 3.2-litre unit giving 200bhp.�Dating from 1993 and finished in black with grey interior trim, this XJ6 3.2 has the usual accoutrements of Jaguar niceties and is reported as being a very clean car throughout.� It is supplied with a service book, with 15 services recorded, and an MOT certificate valid to August 2008 along with the V5C registration document.�For many years the XJ 40 series was seemingly overlooked, but more recently we have noticed an upturn in interest for these latter-day classics, offering, as they do, champagne motoring for lemonade money.
