Lot 260: 1996 Rover Mini Mayfair - 7,373 Miles From New

Fine Motor Cars And The Jaguar Legend, Coys (24 June 2006)

The Mini is a British legend, famously popular with Royalty and learner drivers alike. Since the day Sir Alec Issigonis penned the now classic lines of what was to become The Mini, this cheeky bombshell captured the hearts and wallets of motorists all around the world. With the engine and gear box transversely mounted and front wheel drive, the Mini was endowed with startlingly good handling and excellent performance. The recent passing of the Original Mini was much publicised and the car which has been part of so many people's lives is sadly missed. It cannot be denied however that the car had been superceded by more modern opposition in recent years despite Rovers valiant attempts to update it.This particular example, beautifully finished in red with a magnolia interior was manufactured in 1996 and is of the last line of classic Mini's before the all new BMW version was announced. This little car is perhaps one of the finest examples available and has only covered 7373 miles from new. The car is fitted with an automatic gearbox and has a full service history and an original bill of purchase. All bills for servicing and repair are included in the cars history file. The car is also supplied with a V5 document and a current MoT valid until May next year. A great example of a classic British icon.
