Lot 136: Mercedes-Benz 500SEC

Based on the hugely successful "S" Class Saloon of the 1980's, the SEC gained a loyal following among both business users and sporting drivers. This aggressive looking coupe came in various guises, from a modest 280 to the flagship 560. Specification options were endless and build quality was in line with the reputation for excellence, once enjoyed by Mercedes. Offered here is a 5.0 litre version, which has been in the hands of just two owners from new. The original owner kept the car for 18 years, until September 2004, which is when the current registered keeper acquired it. During its 22 year life, the car had covered a mere 64,998 miles, at the time of writing. The mileage is warranted as being correct and is supported by full service history. The service stamps show that services 1 to 12 were carried out by MB of Norwood (Mayfair) 13 to 16 by Lymington Motors of London and the last service by MB Specialists Lilley and Constable within the last month. Finished in Nordic blue with cream hide, the car is equipped with the usual options associated with this range topping model and is described as being in good, predominately original, all round, condition.
