Lot 105: Chevrolet Camaro

The Camaro was first seen in 1967 and was a direct competitor of the Mustang. Chevrolet already had the Corvette but that was strictly a two seater. The Camaro would meet the Mustang head-on.It may be the big V8's that hit the headlines but the Camaro was always available with a six cylinder option, which were still quick but cost less to run and insure. The example offered here has the 2.8 six, cylinder engine mated to a an automatic transmission.First registered to Charles Berdyis of Vermont, USA, the car eventually found its way to Switzerland. Records show that the car underwent the Swiss Anti Pollution tests in 1993 when it had recorded 30,700 miles. Owned by a Swiss doctor and kept in storage for lengthy periods, the car was then bought by Pierre Costis of Geneve in 2004, who undertook a full restoration. This was completed in early 2006 and the car was imported into the UK in July 2006. When put through a UK MoT test the car passed with flying colours.
