Lot 312: 1968 Bentley T1 MPW Coupe

It was in 1965 that all Bentley and Rolls-Royce saloons became unitary-construction 4-door saloons, sold either as the Bentley T Series or R-R silver Shadow. Although there were no body styles individual to the Bentley-badged cars, there were some variations on the standard saloon carrying both designs of radiator including a 2-door saloon by James Young, and both a 2-door saloon and convertible by H J Mulliner Park Ward. Although already known as Corniches, it was not until 1971 that the HJMPW Bentleys were officially renamed Corniches.This Bentley 2-door, chassis number CBH 2841, was first passed by the inspectors at the Crewe factory in 1968. The coupe in BRG with beige interior is said by the entrant to be in very good general condition with Rolls-Royce built 6750cc V8 engine and automatic transmission reportedly in excellent order. On file are various bills detailing work carried out, a V5 confirming the RNN 999 registration and the latest MoT certificate.The mechanical condition of this motorcar is testamont to the fastideous nature of the current owner. A beautiful example of this most elegant of coachbuilt Bentleys.
