Lot 335: 1994 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III Armored Touring Limousine
RROC Annual Meet, Bonhams & Butterfields (29th July 2005)
24” longer than the standard sedan, Rolls-Royce’s Touring Limousine was introduced on the Silver Spur II platform in September 1991 and continued on the Silver Spur III when this much improved model was launched in 1993. Just 91 of these elegant automobiles were produced by H J Mulliner, Park Ward Ltd - Rolls-Royce’s specialist coachbuilding division - between 1991 and 1994.
Offering the ultimate in privacy and comfort for two passengers in the rear compartment, this elegant vehicle is equipped with a full-width glass division and additional electric blind, intercom system, moon roof and heated seats. A rear-facing fold-down occasional seat and mirrored cocktail cabinet that provides a table when opened are located behind the chauffeur’s compartment. For uncluttered passenger comfort, stowage compartments are incorporated in the rear: CD/DVD storage beneath the occasional seat, between-seat console compartment for remote controls and mobile phones, lidded stowage in each side armrest and a refrigerated unit concealed behind the center armrest with upright space for two 1-liter bottles below a small adjustable shelf. The rear side armrests incorporate control panels that operate the glass divider, moon roof, climate control and seat adjustments, while the rear door armrests are fitted with cigar lighters and ashtrays.
One of a handful of its type made by Rolls-Royce in 1994, this unique Touring Limousine is finished in Ming Blue with dark blue-piped slate leather interior, and features Kevlar-lined coachwork and composite bullet-proof windows for light armor protection. Presented in superb condition with only circa 34,000 miles recorded, it benefits from regular servicing and maintenance, and was recently retrofitted with state-of-the-art entertainment system upgrades by Moyer motorcars. Alpine CVA-1006 Multi-Media Stations are installed front and rear with 6.5" video screens and wireless remotes. This system affords the ultimate in personalization, integrating video games, DVD, VCR and satellite navigation. The rear compartment is fitted with an Alpine DHA-S680 CD/DVD non-skip changer system that holds six CD's, DVD's or a combination. Upgrades include Nokia cell-phone hands-free adapters, cellular antennae, iPod capable, Infinity Speakers all around and a plug-in adapter for any MP3 player.
The accompanying Carfax Vehicle History Report records two owners (in Texas and Virginia) lower than average annual mileage and no reported accidents. Originally priced at over $650,000, not including the upgrades, this luxury Rolls-Royce Touring Limousine is perfect for discreet, protected, executive transportation.
