Lot 18: MG TF MIDGET

The last of the immortal 'T' Series Midgets, the TF was originally conceived as a stopgap whilst the MG A was under development.� Effectively a face-lifted version of the TD, the TF received a somewhat cool reception at its launch, being seen as rather old fashioned in the face of sleek newcomers such as the Triumph TR2 and Austin-Healey 100.� In spite of this, however, it was to go on to become one of the most revered of all MG models.� At its introduction at the 1953 Motor Show, the TF was priced at �780 including purchase tax and some 9,600 examples were produced with the bulk of production going overseas  mostly to the Commonwealth and North America where MG enthusiasm had been riding on a high for some while.�The car is offered for sale with documentation which includes a V5 and MOT certificate current until 2nd August 2008.�
