Lot 105: MG B Roadster

Classic Collectors & Historic Cars, Barons (11th December 2007)

When the, all new, MGB was revealed in 1962, it was something of a revelation. This was the first MG to be built using the new "unitary construction" method. Though not as pretty as the MGA, the styling was timeless, it handled better and was a lighter motor car, which meant that it was slightly faster than the MGA.This 1967 MKII is said to have been the subject of bare shell restoration in 2006/2007. The bodywork is said to have been stripped and all necessary panels replaced, the suspension was rebuilt, the brakes overhauled, including the addition of a servo, the clutch and the overdrive were overhauled. The car was also equipped with an unleaded head, stainless steel exhaust, an oil temperature gauge added, new heater matrix fitted, all new lights, new carpets, door cards and new, leather faced, seat covers in black with red piping.he car is said to drive very well indeed and is offered complete with a full tonneau cover and hood assembly.
