Lot 28: Porsche CARRERA 2 CABRIOLET

The Porsche 964 was launched in 1988 with the 4-wheel drive Carrera 4 model and the Carrera 2 became available in 1989, replacing the 911 3.2 Carrera, while a convertible 'Cabriolet' model joined the range the following year. Many will argue that, although very similar mechanically and dynamically, the 2-wheel drive C2 is more the purists Porsche whilst the C4 had all the fun taken out of it! For 1990, the option of a Tiptronic transmission was also offered, this a truly intelligent automatic gearbox controlled by an onboard computer but with the option of manual override. This example of the 964 C2 Cabriolet is an original RHD car first supplied to Jebsen & Co Ltd, Porsche agents for Hong Kong, in 1991, and subsequently imported to the UK in 2004.
