Lot 623: c.1971 Datsun 240Z ‘Rolling Chassis’
This rolling bodyshell is most probably that of a 1971 Datsun 240Z, ‘WRA 94K’, though no documents have as yet come to light verifying this assumption. The gearbox, steering gear, suspension and wheels are fitted to the ’shell, the rear suspension being works and the front standard. The vehicle comes with spare works front suspension, works headlamp pods, and a partly dismantled engine comprising one of famous Modsports 240Z Big Sam’s cylinder blocks with pistons and a Gordon Allen crankshaft, as well as a quantity of other major spare parts including connecting rods, camshafts, cylinder head, rocker box, differentials and assorted spare wheels. Prospective buyers are advised to check with Bonhams for any amendments to this description by the time of Sale and to satisfy themselves as to the originality, status and completeness of this vehicle prior to bidding.
