Lot 011: Mini Italian Job

The Rover Mini 'Italian Job' Special Edition was released in January 1993 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the famous film of the same name. Available in red, white, blue and British Racing Green, all models had alloy wheels, tinted windows, bonnet stripes to represent the leather bonnet straps on the film cars and special decals and bonnet badges.Interior upholstery and equipment was based on the Cooper, but with small Italian flags on the front seats and steering wheel. Halogen driving lamps were fitted at the front and the rear side windows opened like Cooper/Mayfair models. Just 1,000 right-hand drive models were produced for the UK, whilst 750 left-hand models were sent over to Italy.First registered in September 1993, this little beauty looks especially eye-catching, liveried up as it is with decals that make it look like a Gumball Rally entrant (removable, if your extrovert tendencies don't go that far!). Wheel arch extensions, chunky alloys and chrome headlamp 'eyebrows' complete the sporty look outside, while the fun continues inside with Union Jack doorcards and a JVC sound system. Taxed, MOTd and said to be driving well, it has covered 87,600 miles from new and has a fully stamped up service history to 46,000 miles and lots of bills to show regular maintenance since. Loads of fun and you won't need to nick $4m-worth of gold bullion to afford it: "Hang on lads; I've got a great idea..."
