Lot 024: 1958 JAGUAR XK150 SE DROPHEAD COUPE

Motor Car Sale, H&H Sales Limited (13 September 2006)

Finished in Old English White with tan leather upholstery, this particular right-hand drive example is variously described by the vendor as being in "very good" (engine, four-speed manual plus overdrive gearbox, electrical equipment) or "excellent" (interior trim, chassis, bodywork, paintwork, wheels / tyres) condition. Beginning life as a left-hand drive 'Special Equipment' Drophead Coupe (or so its chassis number would imply), 'KSK 318' was reportedly treated to a "total nut and bolt restoration in 1990" at a cost of "nearly 60,000". Thought to have come from an early Series 1 3.8 litre E-type (or so the 'R' prefix to its serial number would indicate), the car's straight-six DOHC powerplant is fed via triple SU carburettors. Said to have covered just 5,600 miles since work was completed (a figure apparently substantiated by various old MOT certificates) and to "drive very well", this 'drophead gorgeous' XK150 is offered for sale with history file (restoration invoices etc), MOT certificate valid until May 2007 and historic class (free) road tax until October 2006.
