Lot 1337: Matchless G3LCS

Vintage Sale, Cheffins (19 October 2013)

According to anecdotal evidence this machine was constructed for David Scotney from two donor machines by a friend John Bright c2007, a dating certificate from the AJS & Matchless Owners Club show that the frame was originally despatched as a G12CSR to Comerfords Ltd of Thames Ditton, Surrey. The engine fitted is an all alloy 1958 G3LCS and it is to that specification that the rest of the bike has been built. The fibre glass fuel tank shows evidence of being lined out with Caswell or similar to cope with modern petrol, the wheels are freshly built, alloy guards are in place and breath is drawn through the open Amal carb'. Apparently only 371 miles have been covered since the build on this undeniably handsome machine in maroon and silver, having stood for over a year some re-commissioning will be required and no doubt the low mileage will mean that some bedding in of the engine will have occurred requiring some re-tightening. Supplied with V5C document, dating cert, copy photos, correspondence, expired MOT and copious invoices for parts. An eye catching motorcycle.
