Lot 156: Jaguar XJS 4.0 Convertible

Classic - Collectors and Sports Cars, Barons (28 October 2013)

This outstanding XJS 4.0 Convertible is from the penultimate year of manufacture of the model and was originallyregistered to thesupplying dealer and then sold to the first private owner at 8,000 miles. The current owner and vendor is declaring a total mileage of just 38,000 and is offering the car complete with the cherished registration M70 XJS, which has been valued at 1000. Finished in Kingfisher blue with cream leather and navy blue mohair hood, the car is said to be in the condition commensurate with a well cared for, low mileage example. It is described as having been fully and correctly maintained, has always been garaged and has recently benefited from a pair of new front tyres. The car has the later 4.0 engine which is, unusually, mated to the Getrag 5-speed gearbox, which gives the car excellent fuel economy, when driven normally and superb drive-ability when one is feeling a little more sporty. A superb example of a rare, manual specimen with nominal mileage and excellent service credentials.
