Skoda Owners Club
The Skoda Owners Club G.B., formed in 1962 exists to help members obtain the greatest benefit from their cars. The Club welcomes enthusiasts as well as owners of all types of Skoda from the early post-war models to the modern Octavia, Fabia and Superb.
A quarterly magazine is produced, giving the latest technical advice, answering queries and exchanging ideas through members' own letters. The Club also works towards a close liaison with Skoda Auto UK.
A National Committee, elected at the AGM in November conducts the day-to-day affairs and is responsible for organising the programme of events. These include hotel weekends, camping rallies, day visits and track days. In addition there are joint events with clubs for vehicles from East European countries.
There are also local sections within the Club and they organise events within their areas and produce their own newsletters. These sections provide opportunities for members to meet locally within relatively short driving distances.
Every year, in the last week of June, Skoda Owners from all over Northern and Eastern Europe gather for the International Skoda Tour. To date, Clubs in Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic and Great Britain have organised Tours.
There are currently around 800 members of the Skoda Owners Club G.B. Most of these are in the UK, but there are members in Spain, Malta, Australia, and Canada. You do not have to own a Skoda to become a member but is does make life more interesting if you do.
