Jaguar XK
|
The first Jaguar XK model made its debut in 1948, the XK120. The XK120 was heralded as a milestone motorcar, however its engine would outlive the rest of the car for many years, powering many other classic Jaguar models. The XK engine featured six cylinders and twin overhead camshafts, high tech stuff indeed for the 1940s! Later the XK engine could be found in the XK140, XK150, C-Type, D-Type and the E-Type (6 cylinder). A variety of capacities were developed ranging from 2.4, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8 and 4.2 litres which could be found in all of Jaguars post-1950 saloons (Mk VII to XJ6). |
