Hillman S4 OHV
|
Rootes owned Hillman finally replaced its archaic sidevalve engine in 1954 with an all new overhead valve engine. This new engine was first seen in Minx Phase VIII and measured just 1265cc, although a more powerful 1390cc unit appeared shortly afterwards. The Hillman four cylinder engine lived on for many years faithfully serving in the Minx and other closely related (badge engineered!) Rootes models. |
