Bianchi
Overview
In 1897, Bianchi built his first motorcycle and in the following year his first car. From 1905 onwards, a Bianchi fitted with a four-cylinder engine became available. Production soared as a result of this model. In no time, more than 300 cars were leaving the factory per year. After World War I, production of the big cars was stopped and new models appeared, such as the S1 that had a 1.4 litre side-valve engine. Bianchi never made a great deal of money on his cars. If his company had not been building bicycles and motorcycles at the same time, it would most certainly have gone bankrupt.
