The Buckler Engineering company was founded in 1939 by Derrick Buckler and first began producing high quality kit-cars in the early 1950's. Like many other contemporary kit-cars the Buckler was based on Ford mechanical for ease of maintenance and availability.

Buckler used a combination of high quality tubular chassis and well made bodies to clothe its various sports models produced from 1949 to 1962.
