Overview

Aero Minor was a short-lived (1946-52) postwar Czech marker not connected to its compatriot 'Aero', although its cars shared such features as a two-stroke engine and front wheel drive.  In fact the Aero Minor derived from the Jawa Minor, which had been refined during the war.  A number of types were offered, all of which used a water-cooled two-cylinder 615cc engine on a backbone chassis, and some sports cars with their engines bored out to 744cc were made.  In 1949 one of these won the 750cc class at Le Mans and in the Spa 24 Hour race, and the Le Mans success was repeated in 1950, but after that Czech cars were seen no more in Western motor racing.
