Wartburg
Overview
Another model line to emerge from East German combine IFA was the Wartburg. The original models were really later developments of the IFA F9, itself a spin-off from a 1940 DKW proposal. Despite sounding very Eastern Block the Wartburg name itself actually dated back to 1899 when it was used by a company based in Eisenach. Production of the 355/Knight model lasted until 1988.
