Another Eastern Block manufacturer, Zaporozhets, made its first appearance 30 years before the last car would roll off the assembly lines. Like so many other cars from the Eastern Block the Zaporozhets was a crude design based loosely on ideas used on Western products and only "escaped" to the West in small numbers.
