American LaFrance
Overview
In 1903 Truckson LaFrance founded the American LaFrance comapany (ALF). The first ALF fire engines were still pulled by horses, but 1910 the first American LaFrance appeared with a Simplex petrol engine. Over the years, various ALF fire engines were nevertheless converted into racing cars. The White ALF was powered by a six-cylinder engine. The car was specially built for long-distance races.
