Aviette
Overview
This was one of the most primitive of the cyclecars, having a 4hp single-cylinder Jap engine, chain drive to a variable pulley on the countershaft, and final drive by a single belt to the offside rear wheel. Steering was by the outmoded centre pivot system and the boat-shaped body, which could be had in single-or 2-seater form, was made of hickory slats. At least the Aviette was cheap; £55 would buy you a single-seater and £65 a 2-seater.
The company also made the larger Hurlincar and sold components for the home assembly of cyclecars.
