Panther
Overview

You have to hand it to Panther founder Robert Jankel, he certainly never let his imagination for new ideas run out! The first Panther appeared in 1972, the SS100 Jaguar inspired J72. Like many of the other Panther products the J72 was really only inspired by the SS100, it was never meant to be an exact replica, just a modern sportscar with classic (retro?) styling.
Other ambitious models from Panther included the Lazer concept car, the Rio (a curious Triumph Dolomite based "luxury Sports Saloon"), the Ferrari engined FF and outrageous Deville (inspired by the Bugatti Royale). A much more successful model was the Lima, thankfully this car ensured survival for Panther right up-until the 1980's/90's.
