Thomas Parker was a versatile inventor who designed the Bushbury Electric Cart, a 3-wheeler steered by reins which used components made by the Star Cycle Co. of Wolverhampton, which later made Starling and Stuart light cars. The Bushbury was built in 1897, and four years later Parker built a steam car with a flash boiler under the bonnet, a 10hp compound 2-cylinder engine and shaft drive. Resembling a contemporary Daimler, it was built in the Wearwell factory, where Wearwell cars and Wolf motorcycles were made.
