Overview

Founded by Sydney Allard the Allard Car Company began producing sports cars in the days leading upto W.W.II. The Allard concept was to build lightweight sports cars powered by powerful American V8 engines which would be competitive in trials events and still be ok for road use.
A variety of models were produced between 1946-58 including the famous J1, K1 and J2. These successful models always used US built V8 engines which were sourced from Ford, Chrysler and Cadillac.
